Writing instructions

In class you have written instructions about making a volcano.  Can you now write some instructions about making a lego animation.  Here is a link to some lego breakdancing:

Remember to use connectives!  Also make sure that you do not have really short steps - most should be at least 2 sentences.

You have begun your lego animations in class - what have you done so far and what will you need to do next?

  1. How did we do it ? Well firstly we had a camera which had different modes,it was really easy,we had given a basket full of bits such as castles and lego men our group made a castle background and we had a base board to put it on.

.keep the camera still also the base board(thats the things that stick to lego)

if you dont! the film will be ruiend.Be very organiesd dont suddenly turn the lights of or that would be worse.

Whats coming up next ? well the first try was a practice this needs to be perfect REMEMBER! take as long as you want. In the end we should send it to a competion for loads of schools in Bicester hopfully we WIN! you should try this at home thanks.

  2. Well done Jack. A fantastic start. You have managed to maintain your friendly style throughout. DO you think that bullet points will help to make it easier to complete each step?

  4. This is how u make a lego animation
    firstly :
    * You have a camera with different modes.
    * If you want you can put the title on and who it is made by.
    * We get given a box with lego in it.
*Then you have to start to build the back ground I would try to find a board to do your animation on but you can do it on the table or floor.
    * Once you have finished that you can start to make your person do whatever u want and by doing that you need to take a picture then move your man then carry on.
    * And if you want to you can put some credits in.
    * Then you have finished and you can put it in the competition. (you don’t have to.)
Why not try this at home. By Lauren.

  5. Well done Lauren. Great use of bullet points. Be careful that YOU do not use texting skills (you use "u" instead of "you"). I like the mixture of shorter and longer sentences.

  6. You would need:
    .Lego men (6 to 8)
    .A camera (chip in camera)
    .A lego board
    .A backround
    .A computer/laptop

    Instructions

Firstly, you make a backroundout of anything you want(to do with break dancing).

Secondly, get your lego board and place it, so that it is in front of your backround.

Thirdly, get your (6 to 8)lego men and put them on the board.

Then, get your camera and take a photo of your
men and move your men everytime you take a photo.

Fianlly, take your chip out of your camera and put the chip in your computer/laptop and get to a document and start to put picturs at the bottom of your screen.

Then, press PLAY and you will have lego animation.

WARNING:Don't move the lego board when you are actual taking the photo!!

  7. Jack - I like the way you are thinking - that's why you are doing well in class!

I love the use of time connectives and brackets in the anonymous section. The use of a warning is a great way to conclude - well done.

  8. things you need:
    a lego board
    some people (mainly 6-8)
lego briks (to build the buildings)
a camera (to take the photo's)
a background (make sure the back ground relates
    with the clip your making)
    and finally
    a laptop or a computer

Firstly you need to choose the story your clip is going to be based on.After that you find some lego briks and men.

Get the houses and lego men in their places also
get your camra then you can start taking your
    photo's.

tip's:keep your base board still and your camera steady otherwise your photo's will go wonky and out of coordonation.

Its best to just take 100 to 300 bcause then you have atleast 3 or 4 minutes of your clip. There should be a littl chip in your camera
so you can put all your photo's on to your computor/laptop and put togther your animation.

    good luck!

  9. I have enjoyed reading these sets of instructions. They have helped me understand the process of making a Lego animation and I may use the ideas with my class in the future.
